Another Freeze

4/6/2016

Today is Wednesday April 6, 2016 and just drove Home from Catskill NY Exit 21 N.Y.S. Thruway, where there was still 4" of Snow from 2 Days ago Snowfall, Woke up this Morning it was 12 Degrees Outside Walking the Dog !

It's Good to be back on Long Island where there is no sign of Snow and the Lawn Sprinkler Season is upon us, but the colder Temperature's Forecasted to be 26 Degrees Saturday and Sunday nights, let this be the end of below freezing Temperatures, and let us get to work with out the worry of freezing sidewalks, or worse Freezing and Bursting Pressure Vacuum Breaker Backflow Devices that are Outside and made with Plastic, and if it Freezes and Cracks, Flooding will occur, so no more below Freezing Please.

and for anyone who has put their Lawn Sprinkler System on already, you should Turn-off the Lawn Sprinkler Controller (timer) so not to Freeze Your Sidewalks.

    Hope you found value.

Weather is Changing

It's the last day of March and what a beautiful day it was
upper 60's with a warm breeze, which has triggered the watering phone calls,
However it is still forecasted for Below Freezing  Temperatures in the up coming week
we can only expect it to be the final freeze of the season

For anyone whom has turned their Lawn Sprinkler System On
If you have a Pressure Vacuum Backflow Device Outside and your Water Valve is On
If you know how you should turn it Off when the Nights Are Below 32 Degrees which is the point of Freezing Water Outside.

If your Automatic Lawn Sprinkler Timer is ON you should Turn it Off as to Not Freeze the Sidewalks when the temperatures going Below 32 Degrees.

    Hope you found value.

Spring is in the air!
Today while I was out I could not help but notice these little flowers blooming with the amazing weather we have been having, it has been 50 degrees 3 day's in a row now, here in the Northeast, on Long Island, in middle of February, a sure sign that it will not be long now and we will be turning on Lawn Sprinklers!

Winter Winterizations !

1/7/2016

Wow, it's been awhile since last post,

We had a very busy winterization season which I like to have complete by Thanksgiving and I did in fact get all our Service Agreement Clients done by that deadline,

However since then our phone seems to ring every day with another customer needing winterization, which has been okay since December had a average temp of 55 degrees!

But as of this week temps have gone well below freezing and we have had 3 freeze up and broken Lawn Sprinkler Systems where the homeowners had to frantically look for the Lawn Sprinkler Shut-Off Valve, and in one case the water ran for about 11 hours before they found us and we shut it off (quite a flood in yard!) not to mention a HUGE water bill on the way and a complete waste of our most precious resource "water",

So an added point to that is if you know where your Lawn Sprinkler Shut-Off Valve is and it is not labeled you should label it so if someone who does not know where it is can find it in the event of a emergency when the Lawn Sprinkler breaks for whatever reason,

It is actually a good idea to label all your water valves or when you have a plumber in your home ask him/her to do it for you, someday you may be glad you did!

And with all that being said We hope you all had a Happy and Healthy Holiday and we look forward to seeing you in the Spring!

And Thank You to all of our Pre-Paid Service Agreement Clients
We are Thankful for your Business,

Jimmy.

Dear Valued Reader,
The time is now  to Winterize your Lawn Sprinkler System,
I know we want to keep the watering season going trying to keep Ol' man Winter at bay but,
when you go 1 Day to long you will create Ice on the side walks and a dangerous situation for you and your neighbors and you most beautiful landscape,
So call your Professional Irrigation Contractor and get it done now before it's to late,
and if you are a New Homeowner (Congratulations!) or your Professional has Retired you can contact us for a free price quote,
And if you are one of Our AMAZING LOYAL CLIENTS (Thank you so very much!) and your system is still on we will have it off very soon I promise, or I will see you on our scheduled date,
And if your system is Off already then Thank You and Happy Holiday's!
We hope to see you next Watering Season.

So today we received another call about brown grass, now I have been doing Lawn Sprinklers for a long time now and back in the day when we got brown grass calls we would arrive to find dry areas, today we find Lawn is getting watered but it is covered in this Blue Fertilizer, now I am no Chemist but everywhere there is this Blue Fertilizer there is brown dead grass, Just Saying Maybe...
If this was helpful Like this post, thank you.

So the weather is nice and it does not seem like the time to be turning off the Lawn Sprinklers just yet but if there are no new plantings it is okay to turn them off and save yourself some money on the water bill and save the water company some filtering work, so rest easy it's okay to say goodbye to this watering season :-)
